Coming Back Online!

After a long hiatus, I am going to come back to the blogosphere with a new focus.  But first, I would like to explain why I went away.  When I started blogging about educational technology resources and applications I felt it provided motivation to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and applications, and additionally a way to share what I was learning with my colleagues.  At some point, I felt I was reading better resources than I was providing.  Blogs like Richard Byrne's Free Technology for Teachers was taking off and I felt like I just wanted to "re-tweet" (this was before Twitter).

So my new idea....and we will see how long this idea keeps me motivated to continue this blog is to use Twitter to collect how teachers are using technology in their classrooms on a daily basis.  Every day, I plan to tweet out asking the question, "How are you using technology in your classroom today?"  The best response of the day becomes a longer conversation and a blog post.  I'm really interested in focusing on the practical application of technology tools, the challenges teachers face, the standards being addressed (both technological standards and core standards).  I hope to paint a realistic picture of the how technology is being used for learning.
