If this is what our HS's are preparing for....what are our elementary schools preparing for?

How do college students use technology and respond to current instructional practices? Watch this video made at Kansas State. I can't even image the world my 9 year old 4th grader is going to graduate into. I still can't quite get my head around what a new educational model might look like using new web 2.0 technologies but I'm getting there...

It is a great video - but it still leaves the "how to respond?" question unanswered.

So Dave, how does one respond to this 2.0?

I think the read/write web has to be included as a tool to learning. I think students need to learn how to create their own on-demand learning strategies and learning networks. Collaboration outside the classroom using inquiry, projects, and creativity is the direction I feel education is going. If the way I learn is changing, then I know it is going to change for my students.

how many teachers in the building are keeping up with changes such as facebook, etc??? we will need a generational change to adapt and by then it will be too late - something else will be here by tomorrow. the technology is changing too fast.
